Description
How XPEL-IT Seal Protects Pump Bearings
This mechanical seal has a built-in expeller that propels slurry and slurry particles, as well as water, prior to them entering the second chamber of the seal. The second chamber includes a built-in lip seal that seals all liquids bypassing the expeller.
If any liquids get past the lip seal, the Xpel-It has a close tolerance labyrinth design which ensures a path to the bearings that makes leakage difficult, while simultaneously retaining the grease or oil in the bearing frame. This, in turn, provides protection from slurry water and other contaminants that may cause premature bearing failure, since the pathway between the rotor and stator contains a channel that effectively traps all contaminants.
The benefits of XPEL-IT for your equipment
- Easy to install
- No Modifications required
- Inexpensive
- Drastically reduces downtime
- Ensures that pumps and bearings last longer
- Saves the pump therefore reduces wear on pump parts
- Ensure water/slurry does not reach bearings
